from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head 15 November 1914.
Born 20 July 1896 in Worcester. Unmarried. Son of Mrs. Elizabeth
O'Brien, of 65, Warwick Road, Luton, Bedfordshire. In the 1911 census he
was aged 14, born Worcester, an Iron Founder Apprentice, son of
James and Elizabeth O'Brien, resident 65, Warwick Road, Luton. Iron
Moulder before enlistment. Enlisted 30 July 1914 for 12 years. Height
5 feet 5½ inches, chest 34½ inches, dark brown hair,
brown eyes, fresh complexion. Brother of Walter (below). Buried
at FLOTTA PARISH CHURCHYARD, Scapa Flow, Orkney. |

Road, Kensworth, Luton. In the 1911 census he was aged 28, born
Hemel Hempstead, Herts, a a general Labourer at Gasworks, married
to Lizzie with three sons and a duaghter, resuident 14, Wimborne

of Luton, Bedfordshire. Prior to enlisting he was a Number Taker with the
Great Northern Railway Co. Enlisted 26 June 1915 for 12 years, heght
5 feet 7 inches, chest 34 inches, light brown hair, blue eyes, fresh
complexion. In the 1901 census he was aged 1, born Luton, son of
Charles and Susan Olney, resident 2, Oxford Road, Luton. In the
1911 census he was aged 12, born Luton, son of Charles and Susan
Olney, resident 80, Albert Road, Luton. No known grave. Commemorated

to June Quarter 1906 in Luton. Resident 172, Wellington Street,
Luton. In the 1911 census he was aged 26, born Whitechuch, Dorset,
a Milkman, married to Annie Orchard, resident 172, Wellington Street,
Luton. Previously admitted to No 34 Casualty Clearing Station 6
January 1917 with Trench Feet, transferred to 5 Ambulance Train
13 January 1917. Previously admitted to No 11 Casualty Clearing
Station 1917 with shrapnel wounds to the right eye transferred after
69 days to No. 15 Casualty Clearing Station 21 September 1917, religious
denomination Church of England. Admitted to 139th Feild Ambulance
with Influenza 13 June 1918, discharged 23 June 1918 to unit. Buried
in LARCH WOOD (RAILWAY CUTTING) CEMETERY, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
