Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment. Killed in action 2nd July 1918
in France & Flanders. Aged 29. Son of Charles John and R. E.
Minnie Ash, of 48, Cromwell Avenue, Highgate, London; husband of
Freda Ash, of 13, Holdenhurst Rd., Bournemouth. In the 1911 census
he was aged 22, born Stroud Green, Middlesex, a Stockbroker Clerk,
resident with his parents, Charles John and Minnie Ash, at 9 Uplands
Road, Stroud Green, Hornsey, Middlesex. Formerly 1858, Honourable
Artillery Company trasnferred to Bedfordshire Regiment 2 September
1914. Buried in WARLOY-BAILLON COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, Somme,

& Miners. Died on active duty from Food Poisoning 7th June 1916
in Bombay, India. Born 11 August 1889, baptised 9 October 1891 in
Bristol, St Mary Redcliffe, Gloucestershire, son of Arthur and Ellen
Burn, resident Bristol, St Mary Redcliffe. His Indian Army will
gives his residence as "Summerliegh", Chine Crescent,
Bournemouth and his occupation a Civil Engineer. His father Arthur
Burn was deceased in his will and all effects went to his mother
Ellen Burn, if she was deceased then to his sister Gwendolen Queenie
Carlton-Smith. Buried in KIRKEE WAR CEMETERY, India.

Regiment presented to the Battalion by His Late Majesty King Edward
