The
war memorial for Ystrad, Rhondda, stands outside St Stephens church
and takes the form of an obelish with a cross of sacrifice carved in
relief on the front face mounted on a two-tiered plinth with a single
step on a base, the whole surrounded by low metal railings. There are
71 names listed for World War 1 and none for World War 2.
