The War Memorial is situated in grounds of St Pauls Church, Bisterne, a hamlet to the south of Ringwood on the road to Christchuch in the Avon Valley. It takes the form of a rough-hewn granite wheel cross on a tapered, square, plinth on a one-step base. The names on the memorial cover the men from the hamlets of Bisterne, Crowe and Kingston. The 20 names for World War 1 are on the front face of the plinth and the 3 names for World War 2 are on the front, sloping edge of the base. THe names have been sorted into alphabetical order here for ease of reading and research.

BOLLOM	Philip	Private 50587, 19th Battalion, The King's (Liverpool Regiment). Killed in action 29th April 1918. Aged 35. Born Christchurch, enlisted Aldershot, resident Sandford. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bollom; husband of Rose Bollom, of 37, Ripley, Christchurch, Hants. Formerly T/4/060793, Royal Army Service Corps. No known grave. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Blegium. Panel 31 to 34 and 162 and 162A and 163A.
COBB	Percy Phillip	Private 31630 [CWGC] or 31030 [SDGW], "B" Company, 1st Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action 9th April 1917. Aged 19. Born and enlisted Ringwood, resident Upper Kingstone. Son of Charles Thomas and Rose Cobb, of Upper Kingston, Ringwood, Hants. Buried in HIGHLAND CEMETERY, ROCLINCOURT, Pas de Calais, France. Plot I. COX	Albert Edward	[Listed as Edward Albert COX on CWGC and SDGW] Private 10832, 2nd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action 14th October 1916. Born and enlisted Ringwood. No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 7 C and 7 B.
DANIELS	Frank	Private 10843, 2nd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Died at sea 13th August 1915. Aged 25. Born Lawford, enlisted Bournemouth, resident Lower Kingstone. Son of the late George William and Lucy Daniels. No known grave. Commemorated on HELLES MEMORIAL, Turkey. Panel 125-134 or 223-226 228-229 & 328.
DAVIS	Joseph Thomas	Driver 14394, 65th Howitzer Battery, 28th Army Briagde, Royal Field Artillery. Died 26th June 1918. Aged 29. Born Bridport, Dorset, enlisted Lymington. Son of Charles and Jane Davis, of Bisterne, Ringwood, Hants; husband of Olive Davis, of 49, Winchester Rd., Eastleigh, Hants. Enlisted September 1914. Buried in LONGUENESSE (ST. OMER) SOUVENIR CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France. Plot V. Row C. Grave 3.
DEAN	Charles	Private 14942, 10th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Killed in action at Gallipoli 10th August 1915. Aged 32. Born Ringwood, enlisted Brockenhurst, resident Upper Ringston. Son of George and Kate Dean of Bisterne, Ringwood, Hants; husband of Rose Lily May Dean, of Summer Lane, Burton, Christchurch, Hants. No known grave. Commemorated on HELLES MEMORIAL, Turkey. GUY	Harry C	probably Harold Courtney GUY, Private 24889, 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards. Died 23rd July 1917. Son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Guy, of New Road, Wootton Bridge, Isle of Wight. Buried in ARTILLERY WOOD CEMETERY, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot X. Row A. Grave 15.

HUNT	Walter Robert	Private 14741, "H" Company, 3rd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Died 20th December 1915. Aged 37. Husband of Emily Rose Hunt, of 6, New St., Ringwood, Hants. Buried in CHRIST CHURCH MILITARY CEMETERY, PORTSDOWN, Hampshire. Plot/Row/Section B. Grave 48.
LONG	Augustus William	Private 123714, Machine Gun Corps. Died of wounds 10 August 1917. Aged 21. Discharged 11 April 1919 as unfit to serve due to wounds received (Para. 392 (xvi) King's Regulation B. 1. of Army Order 11). Silver badge number B275177, issued 29 August 1919 (after his death). Enlisted 5 June 1916. Death registered in the July to September Quarter 1919. Entitled to the Victory and British War Medals. Birth registered in the April to June Quarter 1898 in Ringwood. In the 1901 census he was the son of Annie Long, aged 2, born Rigwood, resident Hightown, Ringwood, Hampshire. In the 1911 census he was aged 12, son of William and Annie Long, at school, born Ringwood, resident Crowe, Ringwood, Hampshire. See also Ringwood.
LOWNDES	Richard Forbes	Second Lieutenant 5th Battalion, attached to 1st Battalion, (Battalion Lewis Gun Officer), King's Royal Rifle Corps. Died 14th November 1916. Aged 19. Son of Sir George Lowndes, K.C.S.I., R.C., of Crow Hill Ringwood, Hants, and of Hilda Julia, his wife (nee Forbes). Buried in FRANKFURT TRENCH BRITISH CEMETERY, BEAUMONT-HAMEL, Somme, France. MAYWELL	Wilfred	Serjeant 240174, 1st/5th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment. Died 24th April 1919. Aged 29. Son of Joseph and Sarah Ann Maywell, of Moortown, Ringwood, Hants. Buried in ISMAILIA WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY, Egypt. Plot/Row/Section C. Grave 24.
