Private PO/13819, Royal Marines Light Infantry (R.M.L.I). H.M.S “Bulwark”. Died 26th November 1914 aged 27 years. Son of Henry Richard and Amy Laming, of 4 Station Cottages, Martin Mill. Ringwould, Kent. Commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial, Hampshire. Panel 6. The Bulwark was a London Class battleship that blew up in the River Medway off Sheerness in Kent. Over 700 men lost their lives in this disaster. Interestingly this man also lost his life on the “Bulwark” – Private PO/7901 John Alfred LAMING. Royal Marines Light Infantry (R.M.L.I). H.M.S “Bulwark”. Died 26th November 1914. His name does NOT appear on the East Langdon civic war memorial. |
