Rottingdean War Memorial is in the form of a Memorial Cross standing on a plinth on a two-stepped base on a paved area on the village green by the pond. The names on the memorial are repeated on a stone tablet in the Parish Church of St. Margaret’s. There are 37 surnames with one Christian name only. There are nine burials in the Churchyard. Only three are included on the War Memorial. A further 29 names have been added for World War 2.

Operating from Lindholme and returning from a raid on Hamburg the aircraft crashed into houses in Dunhill Road, Poole, Lincs. There was one survivor but the other three crew members were killed, including Sgt Parker, who was brought home for burial 16 November 1940. Aged 19.
