Seaman P/JX153608, H.M.S. Victory. In 1943 he was on active service
on board H.M.S. Manchester when he contracted Tuberculosis and
was invalided back to the United Kingdom where he eventually died
from his illness at the shore base H.M.S. Victory, 14 July 1943.
Aged 22. Born 12 March 1921 in Woking. Attended St Andrews High
School in Worthing. Joined the Navy as a boy recruit in 1936.
Son of George Albert and Hilda Florence Amy, of Worthing. Cremated
and commemorated at BRIGHTON (WOODVALE) BOROUGH CREMATORIUM, Sussex.
