NORTON WAR MEMORIAL

The Norton War Memorial is to be found in the churchyard of St James Church, Norton Lane, Norton. The memorial takes the form an ornate Celtic-style cross with carvings on each side of the head and shaft. The cross is mounted on tapering plinth standing three-stepped base, the front face of the cross has a pelican carved in centre. There are 23 names for World War 1 only. The memorial was unveiled on 26th June 1920. The names here have been sorted into alphabetical order for easy of reading and researching.
