Shelley
is a small village south of Huddersfield on the way to Barnsley on the
B6116. The memorials are to be found within the lych-gate of St Emmanuel
Church, Shelley, Kirklees, West Yorkshire. The lych-gate has a brick
base upon which is a wooden beamed frame. Om the right hand side of
the gate is a wooden panel with the World War 1 inscription below which
is a brass plaque detailing those from World War 2 who fell. There are
40 names listed for World War 1 and 11 names for World War 2.
