TWECHAR
WAR MEMORIAL
World War
1 & 2 - Detailed information
Compiled & Copyright © Martin Edwards 2019
The Twechar
and District War memorial can be found in the small hamlet, by the
Roman wall, on the A8023. It takes the form of a rough hewn, celtic,
cross set on a tapering plinth, block and stone block base with the
lettering on three sides of the plinth in black and the whole being
set in a paved and gravel surround; on the front face of the cross
an inverted sword has been carved. There are 27 names listed for World
War 1 and 7 for World War 2. The names have been sorted into alphabetical
order within conflict for ease of reading and research.
