Charles John

Private 241154. 1st/5th Battalion,, Norfolk Regiment. Died Thursday 19 April 1917. Age 23. Enlisted Norwich. Son of John and Mary Ann Tuck, of Bessingham, Aldborough, Norfolk. Buried: GAZA WAR CEMETERY, Israel. Ref. XXIII. E. 8.

From Andy Pay's research into the Marquis de Ruvigny's Roll of Honour the following:

Volume 2, Part 4, Page 216 - TUCK, Charles John - Private, No 241154, 5th (Territorial) Battalion, The Norfolk Regiment

only son of John Tuck, of Bessingham, co.Norfolk, by his wife Mary Ann, dau.of Stephen Lambert, of Matlaske; born 6th Jan,1894; educated Gresham Council School, co.Norfolk; joined the Norfolk Regiment.21st Jan,1916; served with The Egyptian Expeditionary Force in Egypt and Palestine from the following July; was reported wounded and missing after the Battle of Gaza, 19th April,1917, and is now assumed to have been killed on or since that date. Unm.
