The Rockland All Saints war memorial is in the form of a wall mounted plaque, the exterior is marble and the inscription is in relief on a brass plaque. There are eight names listed, with rank and Regiment, for World War 1.

BAKER

William John

Private 15945 William John Baker was born in Shropham. He enlisted in the 9th Norfolk Regiment in Norwich. He served in France & Flanders and was Killed in Action on 15th September 1916 aged 29. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial and on the Rockland All Saints War Memorial. He was the Son of John & Rebecca Baker of Shropham, husband of Sarah Crane (formerly Baker) of Watton.

BARRETT

Alfred

Gunner 68900 Alfred Barrett enlisted in the Royal Horse / Field Artillery Regiment in Norwich. He served in France & Flanders and died of wounds received on 20th January 1918. He is buried at Ypres Reservoir Cemetery Grave III C2 and is remembered on the Rockland All Saints War Memorial. He was a resident of Swaffham.

FINCHAM

Elijah Isaac

Private 29231 Elijah Isaac Fincham was born in Shropham. He enlisted in the 9th Norfolk Regiment in Norwich on 28th April 1916. He served in France & Flanders and died of wounds received on 15th April 1918 aged 33. He is buried at Mont Noir Military Cemetery, St. Jans-Cappel Grave II. E.14 and is remembered on the Rockland All Saints War Memorial. He was the Husband of Mrs. E. Fincham.

FOX

George Edward

Private 28053 George Edward Fox was born in Rocklands. He enlisted in the 13th Essex Regiment in Norwich. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 13th November 1916 aged 20. He is buried at Serre Road Cemetery No.2 Grave II. A. 10 and is remembered on the Rockland All Saints War Memorial. He was the son of Edward and Annie Fox, of Rectory Road, Rockland All Saints where he was a resident.

GREEN

Arthur William

Private 21317 Arthur William Green was born in Hadleigh Suffolk. He enlisted in the 10th Essex Regiment in Norwich. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 7th January 1917. He is buried at Dantzig Alley British Cemetery and is remembered on the Rockland All Saints War Memorial. He was a resident of Swafham.

LARTER

Harry Webster

Lance Corporal 14406 Harry Webster Larter was born in Breckles c1887. He enlisted in the 9th Norfolk Regiment in Norwich. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 18th October 1916 aged 30. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial Pier and Face 1C and 1D and on the Rockland All Saints War Memorial. He was the son of Mrs Sarah Larter.

MERTON

Alfred

Private 15932 Alfred Merton was born in Rocklands. He enlisted in the 9th Norfolk Regiment in Norwich. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 15th September 1916. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial Pier and Face 1C and 1D and on the Rockland All Saints War Memorial.

SHEPHERD

Reginald A William

Private 40904 Reginald A. William Shepherd was born in Rocklands c1894. He enlisted in the 14th Worcestershire Regiment in Marylebone London. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 12th August 1917 aged ~23. He is buried at Bailleul Road East Cemetery, St. Laurent-Blangy Grave I. O. 10 and is remembered on the Rockland All Saints War Memorial. He was a resident of Rocklands.
