Thurning
is a small village a few miles south of Holt and close to Corpusty.
There are two war memorials inside the church, both relating to World
War One. One is a hand-inscribed Roll of Honour behind glass in a wooden
frame commemorating both those who served and those who died. The order
of the names on this memorial have been put into alphabetical order
for ease of searching. The brass memorial remembers only those who died.
There is also a small plaque commemorating a man who died on active
service in Cyprus in September 1956.
