The war memorial is to be found on the North wall inside St. Mary the Virgin Church, Church Drive, off Sandfine Road, Broughton, Oxfordshire. It takes the from of a black, decorated, wall mounted nowy-headed backboard supporting a portrait orientated nowy-headed plaque with a raised decorative foliate border with raised inscriptions and names. There are 13 names for World War 1 and 7 for World War 2. The names here for World War 1 have been sorted into alphabetical order for ease of reading and research. In addition there are various memorials to the FIENNES family members.

Gunner 107893, "C" Battery, 162nd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Killed in action 12 December 1917. Aged 24. Born and enlisted Banbury, Oxon. Son of Mrs. Ellen Carter, of Fletcher House, North Newington, Banbury. Buried in TYNE COT CEMETERY, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot XVI. Row H. Grave 20.

Born and resident North Newington, Oxon, enlisted Banbury. Son of Thomas Henry and Ann Clutterbuck, of North Newington, Banbury, Oxon. Buried in VARENNES MILITARY CEMETERY, Somme, France. Plot I. Private 23280, 6th Battalion, King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment). Died on service in Mesopotamia 2 July 1916. Aged 30. Born North newington, Oxford, enlisted Worksop. Son of James Edward and Mary Gascoigne, of North Newington, Banbury, Oxon; husband of Eva Jane Gascoigne, of The Nurses Home, St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London. Buried in AMARA WAR CEMETERY, Iraq. Lieutenant Colonel 26041, commanding Royal Scots Greys (2nd Dragoons), Royal Armoured Corps. Died 24 November 1943. Aged 41. 2nd Bt. Son of Lt.-Col. the Hon. Sir Eustace Fiennes, 1st Bt., J.P., and Lady Fiennes, O.B.E., of Sunningdale Rise, Berkshire; husband of Lady Audrey Joan Fiennes, of Park Lane, London. A.D.C. to Governor General of Canada, 1930. Also served in the Royal Flying Corps. Awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.). Buried in NAPLES WAR CEMETERY, Italy. Plot II. Row J. Grave 10.
