K Shoes/Somervell Brothers memorial (commemorates employees of K Shoes shoe factory), standing in the grounds of the K Shoe works, near Nether Bridge, Kendal. It takes the form of a Celtic cross made of local green slate. Inscribed on one side only with epithet and names of fallen.

Private 15095, 8th Battalion, Border Regiment. Died of wounds 31st October 1916. Aged 31 years. Born and enlisted Kendal, Westmorland. Son of Agnes and Thomas Chambers of Kendal Westmorland. Husband to Agnes Chambers of Kendal, Westmorland. Buried in Wimereux Communal Cemetery.
DUCKSBURY Charles
[Listed as DUXBURY on SDGW] Private 34736 formerly 24971, 2/5th Battalion, Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment). Killed in action 28th September 1918. Born, and enlisted 1st November 1915 aged 26 years, in Kendal, Westmorland. Resident 2 Beech Hill Cottage, Kendal, Westmorland. Enlisted to the Yorkshire (Bantam) Regiment, transferred to West Riding Regiment. Height 5 feet 0½ inch. Husband of Eleanor Ducksbury, of 62, Morcambe St., Rocky Lane, Liverpool, married at St Thomas’ Church 1915. Posted to France 5th June 1916. Buried in Grand Ravine British Cemetery, Havrincourt, Pas de Calais, France. Row A. Grave 14.

Private 23585, 1st Battalion, Border Regiment. Killed in action aged 21 years 27th January 1917. Born and enlisted Kendal, Westmorland. Son of Thomas and Martha Elson of Kendal, Westmorland. Remembered on Pier and face 6A and 7C Thiepval Memorial.

Private 8/15130, "C" Company, 8th Battalion, Border Regiment. Killed in action aged 22 years 18th May 1916. Born and enlisted Kendal, Westmorland. Son of Thomas and Martha Elson of Kendal, Westmorland. Buried in Ecoivres Military Cemetery, Mont St Eloi, Pas de Calais, France.

Private 23695 [CWGC] or 23675 [SDGW], 2nd Battalion, Border Regiment. Killed in action aged 22 years 5th September 1916. Born Burnley, L:ancashire, enlisted Kendal, Westmorland. Son of Edward Lindley German and the Late Bridget German of 20, Yard 135, Highgate, Kendal, Westmorland. Remembered on Pier and face 6A and 7C Thiepval Memorial.
HINE Willie aka William
Private 64673, 3rd Company, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) formerly 3879, Border Regiment. Died on service aged 37 years 13th February 1917. Born and enlisted Kendal, Westmorland. Son of Harrison and Lucetta Hine of Kendal, Westmorland. Husband of Mary Agnes Hine of "Vioneycot" Natland Road, Kendal, Westmorland. Buried VG36 Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L’Abbe.
HOLMES Thomas Herbert
Private 67747, 4th (Reserve) Battalion (Territorials), Devonshire Regiment. Died on service in Egypt aged 19 years on 30th December 1917. Enlisted Kendal, Westmoreland. Son of Robert Henry and Hannah Holmes of 20 Longpool, Kendal, Westmorland. Remembered on the Chatby Memorial, Egypt.

Private 14878, 8th Battalion, Border Regiment. Killed in action 5th July 1916 aged 24 years. Born Kendal, Westmorland, enlisted in Kendal, Westmorland on 5th September 1914 aged 24 years. Son of Robert Henry and Hannah Holmes of 20 Longpool, Kendal, Westmorland. Remembered on Pier 6A and 7C Thiepval Memorial.
JACKSON Herbert
Gunner 171232, 286th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Killed in action aged 33 years on 27th May 1918. Born and resident Kendal, Westmoreland, enlisted Gosport, Hants. Son of George and Jane Jackson of Kendal, Westmorland. Buried 1233/1236 Beaurepaire French National Cemetery, Pontavert.
JOPSON Stanley
Private 24263, 8th Battalion, Border Regiment. Killed in action 19th April 1918. Born Kendal, Westmorland, enlisted in Calisle aged 22 years on 26th February 1916. Height 5 feet 95/8 inches. Religious denomination Church of England. Remembered on Panel 6 Ploegsteert Memorial.

Private 35653, 2nd/ 6th Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Killed in action aged 19 years on 24th October 1918. Born and enlisted Kendal, Westmorland. Lance Corporal 18213, "D" Company, 6th Battalion, Border Regiment. Killed in action at Gallipoli aged 21 years on 9th August 1915. Born Natland, Westmorland, enlisted Kendal, Westmorland.
