Note from Mike Morison 11 November 2015:

I have been researching my family for some 2 years now and have just found a reference to my great uncle, Digby Crunden Cleaver, on your website. You mention that he was from Much Hadham in Herts and his connection with Shoreham is unknown. He did, in fact, live in Shoreham and was the catalyst for bringing my grandparents together as he was mad keen on the new-fangled aircraft and my grandfather, Oscar Colin Morison, was based in Brighton and did much of his flying in 1911 from Shoreham airport. Digby, who lived with his family on the shoreline (houses now demolished, used to hang around the airport and was, so I believe, the first scout ever to fly (with my grandfather). Digby’s father was Howard Crunden Cleaver who was a designer and manufacturer of some repute; and his elder sister, Madge, married Oscar in 1912. Oscar & Madge had 4 sons, my father being the youngest. I have recently discovered that Howard Cleaver remarried and had 2 more daughters, one of whom is still alive and well, living in Suffolk and I have been in contact with her since early last year.
