Atkinson Hunter and Elisabeth Hunter (nee Morin); brother of Charles
(b. 1875) Elizabeth (b. 1876) and John Frank (b. 1880). He left
Westmorland after the 1901 census and in 1911 was a 'domestic groom'
for a Colonel Thomas at Ross in Herefordshire and was also employed
at Chyknell Hall in Claverley, working for Mrs Tollemarche, in a
similar capacity before he enlisted into the army in circa 1916
at Dolgellau. Also commemorated on Claverley Roll of Honour, the
War Memorial at the Lodge at Chicknell Hall, and in the Shropshire
Book of Remembrance. Buried in Loos British Cemetery, Pas de Calais,
France. |
